Does ResidualVM Work For the Entire Game?

Post by CrisGer »

I am eager to try Grim with ResidualVM, i lost the ability to play the full game when i upgraded to an Nvida 8600 GT card, will ResidualVM play the entire game for us now? Great project, I am glad it is back on track...i an a huge supporter of ScummVM and this looks like another such excellent effort.

thanks for info on this.

Since saving/restoring doesn't work yet I never bothered playing past the first few scenes, but as far as I know it doesn't. (Development seems to be stalled at the moment, unfortunately.)

HOW FAR WITH grim?

Post by alfredo87 »

It is some time from this post and I hope that Grim is now fully playable or will it?

Your effort on this project is brilliant and it would be great to know that it is still being worked on.
I use a Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook P7010 laptop with LINUX MINT and it looks cool to play Grim on it.
Everything works except subs which appear one on top of the other!
Well done and keep going it is a super project to get one of the best games ever back to life in the XXIst century: you are making history.
regards

No, residual is slow because of lack of time and manpower.
It is not stuck though, just slow.

Development seems to have sped up since moving the code to a git repository. Loading/Saving and Manny looking at usable objects has been implemented and the bug in the lip sync that stop the textures from changing has been fixed.

Reposting, since quite a bit has happened, now It's completable until almost the end of year 3.

I also tested the puzzles in Year 4, and all but 2-3 of them work now.
