I 've just seen ResidualVM get nice update and the alpha is finished (thanks to the team ).
Unfortunatly ResidualVM (with the latest build) still not work (it exit immediatly, and open a crash window) on my computer.
I have follow the instructions of MeddlingMonk
Launch Terminal and type cd /applications/residual.app/contents/macos and enter. (Assuming of course you have ResidualVM in your applications folder. If not, adjust accordingly.) Then type ./residual -d3 and enter and, if what comes up doesn't make sense, post it here and I'm sure someone can figure it out.
Strange, I thought it would at least start some sort of launcher/add game GUI these days. The only idea I can think of is to start it from a command prompt (since I don't use OS X myself, I don't know exactly how) and see if it prints any error message.
It definitely should launch the gui. I just tried by moving my existing prefs file and the gui came up with nothing listed. That's what I expected and that's what I got. Now, I'm using a self-compiled svn build, and I have to wonder whether Harrypoppins is using a post-gui build at all, whether downloaded or self-built. I would expect the answer to be 'yes' but it's dumb to assume.
If the answer is yes, re-downloading the Mac snapshot might be a good idea. If that doesn't help or that has already been tried, this is what I'd suggest:
Launch Terminal and type cd /applications/residual.app/contents/macos and enter. (Assuming of course you have ResidualVM in your applications folder. If not, adjust accordingly.) Then type ./residual -d3 and enter and, if what comes up doesn't make sense, post it here and I'm sure someone can figure it out.

cd /Applications/ResidualVM.app/Contents/MacOS/
mv residual firefox.original
ditto --arch i386 residual.original residual
And, yes 10.5 runs SOME 64-bit apps, but not all, it should do fine with 32-bit though. (I see no reason currently to require 10.6 for residual, but SDL's newest version has dropped 64-bit support for 10.5).
I've find an older version of ResidualVM (with an old frontend of the interpretor : grimX)
This older version of ResidualVM work on my mac ? It's strange, no ?
