Patching a new install on Win7 machine

Post by palindrome »

I'm installing Grim from the CDs on a Win 7 (64 Bit) machine. I copied all the *LAB and TAB files since the native game installer won't work on this OS. However, I now can't patch these files using the patcher.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

I have no experience about this, but have you tried installing with the Grim Fandango Setup?

After a bit of searching around, the solution is this:

Install the game using the Grim Fandango Setup: http://quick.mixnmojo.com/grim-fandango-setup

The patch will then run properly.

The ResidualVM FAQ/wiki entries for Grim's installation should probably mention this as n00bs (such as myself) would appreciate the clarification.

Thanks!
