you guys are gonna make my retro gaming day when ResidualVM's fully functional.

interestingly though, just installed GrimF in w7 SP1 x64 (using this custom installer) and would you believe it, D3D works!

MS must have patched it up for SP1, i guess.

the game itself is buggy as hell though.

I wouldn't try to play the game with it's original .exe
on newer, modern PCs, since it will crash at some point.

You might get jittery animations just before the game will hang
with a sound looping etc.

Not even the official patch 1.01 will prevent the game from crashing.

So it's better to play it via ResidualVM, if you own a modern PC.

Although it is possible to play it under a Virtual Machine or on an older, preferably "slow" PC (single-core).

i did actually get through the entire game tbh.
looking forward to a residual finall though.
fsaa and and the rest cranked up makes grim f look awesome already.
no doubt it'll look even better in a higher resolution.
classics never die.
