OS X Filename of Config File?

Post by DanBeckett »

Hi, I'm trying to set Grim to play fullscreen, and have sussed that you need to do it via the Preferences file, but my game hasn't auto-genned one and the documentation doesn't give the filename for it.

It's listed as residual.ini for everything else, but this just appears as a Parallels file on my machine, is this right?

Cheers, Dan

It's listed quite clearly in 5.1 in the readme:
Mac OS X:
~/Library/Preferences/ResidualVM Preferences
Where ~ means "your home folder". The filename is "ResidualVM Preferences" (no file-extension) in your home-folders Library.

Also, I can't see how you would even have a ResidualVM.ini file on your mac, unless you also run ResidualVM under Parallells for some reason.

Lastly, the other UNIXes also don't have a residual.ini, but a ~/.residualrc

All of this is quite a moot point if you're running 10.7 though, as fullscreen wont work there.

Thanks somaen, I didn't have a problem with the rest of it, just that with ResidualVM Preferences having no filename threw me a bit, I thought it must be a folder. My bad.

I am running 10.7 though, so sounds like as you say it's a moot point. Ah, well
