Grim Fandango...after the Credits?

What should happen after the credits rolled?
What does the original exe do when one finished the game?

I'm just asking because i don't want to file a bug until i don't know if there is one.

Right now after the credits the screen stays black

I would assume it should open the menu, but I'm not sure I haven't completed grim for ages.

So it stays black and one has to exit residual?
Is there a way to bring the game back to the main menu when finished?
Or start the game over?
