Okay, here it is. mannysuit.3do
It looks great. I think it's the 3d collar and tie that really sells it.

The response we're getting from this is fantastic. Great job on the model, Blacksad! You should be proud!
If we can get to the bottom of Manny's facial animation, then we'll really be in business.
One thing I noticed playing with this new Manny: He really lends himself to upping the game resolution. Now with all the extra detail, it'd be great to be able to appreciate it fully.

Great! Haha that's basically exactly what I wanted to hear.JohnnyWalker2001 wrote:Hello! Nope. None whatsoever.reismahnic wrote:Hello, I'm new!
I was curious, do you have plans to alter the game's animation in any way?
Wish I could help but my 3D skills are hardly acceptable; with that said, I can't express how happy I am that this is finally being done. I'm excited to think that one day I can play one of my all time favorite games with remastered visuals.
Thank you!
Yay. Looks cool with the new textures
I did some tweakings today. Thumbs were pointing through the sleeves. I didn't like the shading beneath the collar, so i mapped the area onto the black part of the chest image. The chin is a problem. Sometimes its intersecting with the shoulder. This is already a problem of the original model. I made some tiny changes on the chin and shoulders, but its still there. If we move up the head, i'm afraid that the speaking animation would get twisted.

Wow, this looks amazing. This picture could provide a good advertisement for your project.JohnnyWalker2001 wrote:Done! I agree, it looks great!cplhenshaw wrote:Okay, here it is. mannysuit.3do

Yeah, forget about his chin. It's so minor, and it happened with the original, as you said.Blacksad wrote:Yay. Looks cool with the new textures

The Grim Fandango characters are so iconic and memorable that any artistic deviation in redesign would alienate them and they would cease to be the characters we loved.
What Blacksad has done is perfect. The same character - only with more polygons. Of course the fingers, tie and collar are excellent because they were in the original version, but now they're better, a subtle addition.
Then again, some people here want to see more "realistic" Manny: the one who's bones look like real bones. And for me that would ruin the artistic and visual feel of the game, they need to be like paper mache.
Now can someone unlock the resolution and fix the animation? Are the normals and facial animation still broken in new redesigned models?
