you asked the question, if somebody knew they would have answered.
nobody answered, so obviously nobody knows (or maybe nobody cared enough to answer, in which case the reply to your own post would not stimulate things either)

Well, actually AnotherGuest already replied...

And yes.. I know that the joystick is n't rotated buy you can remap it in options.

But I also told him (somwhere...) I CAN'T find any "remap" button/menu in UIQ Scumm options, so... what?
Is remap implemented in UIQ?

I looked at my scummvm.ini, but I didn't find anything suitable...
And I can't even find any tip on the site about how to configure the .ini file. So I had to download scummvm for WINDOWS and to look for a manual. But I didn't find any manual.
So, last chance was to look at README file (but why such and advanced option like remapping should be into a README?!?): so I found that it is NOT a README file, but actually the scummvm manual... BUT it does not contain the info I needed.

So, I am now exactly at the same point where I was when I first asked the question:
how can I fix the wrong joystick behaviour in Symbian UIQ phone?

P.S.
I suggest to add to the FAQ this answer, together with a "How to configure scummvm.ini", with a link to a scummvm.ini detailed description.
ScummVM is a HUGE work, it's a pity not to have proper documentation for it.

As I told,I can't.
I noticed just now I'm using 0.7.1 version (i donwloaded it somwhere, before discovering this forum and the scummvm site...); maybe it's a new feature of 0.8.2?

Yes its a new feature from 0.8 and after (from 0.8 cvs versions actually). And.. well. I forgot.. when talking about defects etc, always say which version you are running..

I see there is not a proper icon for UIQ version.
You can "grab" it from this images:

tested 0.8.2.
Strange things happen:
after remapping joystick, using it results in DIAGONAL moves rather than up/down right/left!!
In other words, moving joy to the upper part of the screen, cursor moves up-LEFT;
down -->down-RIGHT
and so on...

Game A and Game B keys are "detected" as "NONE".
