Issue with fullscreen (not asking where residualvm.ini is)
Hello,
I have gotten Grim Fandango to run but it is in the small window (not windowed, but low res), not fullscreen.
I found residualvm.ini, but opened it and found that fullscreen is already set to 'true'.
I am on Windows 7 64 Bit and again, the game seems to run fine, sound etc. The only issue I have is that fullscreen is not active.
I am running it on a Geforce GTX 560TI (SLI is active, but I don't think that would have an affect on it.)
Thank you very much.

Re: Issue with fullscreen (not asking where residualvm.ini i
I can't get this to work. Windows 7, have the .ini file, it was already on fullscreen=true but still no fullscreen. What to do? :(((

And I also tried this. Didn't work :(reismahnic wrote:Solved:
I had to toggle Hardware Acceleration on and off a couple times but it works.

Which version of ResidualVM are you using?
Can you launch other games in a 640x480 resolution?
Does the log say anything?

Hey Botje, thanks for the reply!Botje wrote:Which version of ResidualVM are you using?

I am using version 0.1.1 and I don't have any other games to try out unfortunately.
The "log"... is that the same as the "Status Window"?
Re: Issue with fullscreen (not asking where residualvm.ini i
Very strange that the menu options do not work.
You can test whether your system supports 640x480 fullscreen with, for example, the Cube engine (http://cubeengine.com/cube.php).
If that works, can you remove your residualvm.ini, re-add the game, set it to fullscreen and try again?
If that still fails, please try again with a daily build (http://www.residualvm.org/downloads/#daily).

The Cube engine link didn't work. I removed the .ini file and re-added the game, didn't work. The daily build didn't work either, and froze my computer when I tried to Quit Game...Botje wrote:Very strange that the menu options do not work.

Oh well, I guess I won't be playing Grim Fandango then.

Or you could try again when This pull request gets merged.
Re: Issue with fullscreen (not asking where residualvm.ini i
Augustus: Can you try again with a new daily build (as of 04/12)?
We recently merged code that allows ResidualVM to render fullscreen at your desktop resolution.
Hopefully that fixes your problem.

When I try that build the game doesn't even start. ResidualVM closes and I can't see either RVM or Grim Fandango in the running processes in task manager. I managed to take the following screenshot before it closes down:Botje wrote:Augustus: Can you try again with a new daily build (as of 04/12)?

Re: Issue with fullscreen (not asking where residualvm.ini i
There should be a residualvm.log in your home directory somewhere (for me it's C:\Users\Dries\AppData\Roaming\ResidualVM\Logs). Does that contain anything more?
Also, one thing that surprised me about your screenshot is that your OpenGL renderer appears to be Intel. I thought you said you had an NVIDIA card? Can you try forcing the NVIDIA card somehow?
Thanks for sticking around to debug this, hopefully we can make it work for your system.

I have one of those integrated graphics cards and cannot really do anything about that. I don't even know what NVIDIA is.[2014-11-07 00:12:56] ResidualVM 0.2.0git73c9fda (Dec 5 2014 08:28:42)

Oh, I confused you with the original author of this thread. Which integrated chipset do you have and what driver version?
Re: Issue with fullscreen (not asking where residualvm.ini i
It's the "Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family" lol. I honestly don't know more than that.Botje wrote:Oh, I confused you with the original author of this thread. Which integrated chipset do you have and what driver version?
Re: Issue with fullscreen (not asking where residualvm.ini i
^ I assume this wasn't helpful. That's all there is to it. It's one of those integrated graphics cards that came with the laptop. Never upgraded it in any way.Augustus wrote:It's the "Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family" lol.
