a little problem with the dialogue transcriptions (G.F.)

Post by Toto Santos »

Hi there! I'm new to these forums, hope to be in the right section :)
I don't know if something like this has already been posted here, I searched but I couldn't find anything...
I have the italian version of Grim Fandango and it works perfectly so far on ResidualVM (I've just arrived in the petrified forest without problems) but I noticed that the dialogue transcriptions of the cutcenes dialogues appear in english, while the location informations (hope to be clear here...) and the normal in-game dialogues are in italian. Is there a way to fix this? Is this related to the 1.01 patch? I copied it in the directory in which I copied all the files from the CDs, but it doesn't run (it can't find the game, since it's impossible to install on Window 7 64bit).
Thanks in advance :)

You are not supposed to do anything other than put the gfupd101.exe-file in the folder, it should not need to be run.

The subtitles in the movies were added with the 1.01 patch to the original game,
I'm not sure whether or not they were ever added for the non-english versions.

If I get some time, I'll take a look at my german copy of the game, to see if that
has correct subtitles there (that won't necessarily cover the italian one though).
