Hi
Anybody know if there are common glitches with saving on BS1? Neither esc or F5 seem to work. Just lost 2 hours of play! Using an iMac...

What exactly is your problem with savingfiles? If it lokes like the screen is "flickering" between the game screen and the menu screen, you're pressing F5/ESC for to long. Just a soft push on the key, that's it. Happens to me once in a while.
If that's not the case, I don't have any more ideas what could be wrong. Which version of ScummVM are you using, anyway?

Thanks. Well...I just checked my system prefs and F5 isn't listed (control+F5 and Apple+F5 are there but not F5 on its own). So that doesn't seem to be the issue.
I'm beginning to think there must be something else I had to copy over from the original CD...something not listed here. For example, I had to additionally copy over the CD1.ID file for the CD to be recognised. So perhaps there's something else needed for the menu screen to be enabled. Any thoughts?

No, as long as the game starts, F5 or Esc should just work.jonny wrote:I'm beginning to think there must be something else I had to copy over from the original CD...something not listed here. By the way, as far as I know the CD1.ID file is only needed if ScummVM thinks it's running the game directly from the CD. Did you see a warning about not finding CD 2 data files? That appears to be the only place where the runningFromCd variable is set to true. (The CD 2 data files would be ireland.clu, scotland.clu, spain.clu, syria.clu, and train.clu, I think.)
No, haven't had that warning yet.
So, ScummVM thinks that I'm running the game from the CD. Is this a bad thing? Could this explain the problem with F5?
You may remember that I had to copy the CD.ID files over just to get the game to play, in spite of having copied over all the other stuff (.clu files etc), so I don't think I have much choice.
I'll have another go at saving....

No, everything to do with keyboard input is in ScummVM. The only thing that should be able to make it ignore F5 is if the control panel dialog is already open, or if the mouse cursor is hidden (since that usually means it's in the middle of some non-interactive scene, where saving may cause problems).jonny wrote:So, ScummVM thinks that I'm running the game from the CD.
