Hey guys,
Sorry to bump this old topic but it may be of interest of some of the members.
Lupin and I from MBN community have been working on a new engine for LBA2, that can be played directly in a web browser: http://lba2remake.xesf.net/
It's just a work in progress at this point, far from being fully playable, but we thought you'd be interested to see it.
It has been develop using Javascript (ES6), ThreeJS (WebGL) and React (UI), so eventually it could be adapt for residual.
I don't mind if our code will be used for this project as well, but of course I'd like to have more progress done on this new engine which is mode advanced.
Source code is not public available yet (it will soon enough), but if you'd like to give us a hand, just let us know.
BONUS: Editor mode here: http://lba2remake.xesf.net/#editor=true
For more details, check the MBN thread: https://forum.magicball.net/showthread.php?t=18208
Hope you enjoy

That is seriously awesome work, I really hope this leads to the full game becoming playable! My visits to MBN have been becoming less and less frequent with the slowing down of new LBA news, so I'm glad you posted this here!alexfont wrote:Hey guys,

Awesome! I remember there was ongoing work in klusark's twin project, but this was a while back.
If you guys managed to do it in what is essentially a object oriented environment, progress in Residual might be speedtracked

Re: TWIN engine (was poll)
Thanks both for you messages.
Yeah, we are going to work on that goal, to make the game fully playable and than start improving it.
We are using functional programming instead, but I don't believe that will be an issue.
Yeah, klusark did work hard on the residual version, hope he still check this forum
