Police Quest Fan Patch warning

Hi,

when I start either Police Quest 1 (VGA) or Police Quest 3, I get a warning that there is a fan patch applied. I have the same issue with the GOG and Steam versions. How do I remove that patch?

Checking through the SCI engine code, the relevant section is here:

It appears that the patch is detected based on a modified script #994 , though there may be other patch files present. I think there would be files called VIEW.994 and similar in your datafiles which would need to be removed.
