How to play Nippon Safes (Amiga)?

I'm excited that this classic game is now free for all, and I downloaded the Amiga version as that has significantly better graphics and sound. When I point a fresh download of ScummVM 2.2.0 for Windows x64 to the extracted folder, it recognizes it with official name and all.

Unfortunately, when I try to start it, I get "Failed to read IFF file!" in the console for a moment before it all crashes hard. Is the Amiga copy actually ScummVM compatible at all, or do I need to go with an Amiga emulator instead? I assumed that it's compatible since nothing was said either way, and the wiki certainly seems to imply it is, even putting the Amiga version first, but maybe I misunderstood?

Sounds like corrupt data, i just tried, downloaded the free amiga version, unpacked, pointed to it, run...no problems

You could either redownload the .zip again or compare md5sums, those are mine:

I get the exact same error with the exact same file checksums you listed.

This is with the 2.2.0 flatpak version on Kubuntu 20.10.

I see...i was testing with a git release.

Seems this bug is indeed in the 2.2.0 release, but has been fixed since.

Replicated with v2.2.0 tag compiled on x86_64 Linux with Nippon Safes NS. Have bisected and this bug was introduced by this commit on 2020-04-30:

This commit was reverted on 2020-12-06, so this fixed the issue but this was after the v2.2.0 release on 2020-09-27:

The solution is to use a daily build until v2.3.0 is released.

No need, I can build my own to test.

And yes, it works fine with the latest git version. Seems it is a 2.2.0 bug so I guess the OP will either need to use a nightly or wait for the next release.
