I have versions 1.0.0, 1.0.1, and 1.0.2 of that game, and I have never heard about any new versions that wouldn't just be small bug fixes with 1.0.X version number.

Just wanted to say that this is stupendously great. Dug into my old archive of AGS games, and I will give a few a try soon.

I've noticed that only one the Ben Jordan games has its full name, so here is the list with the names from the itch.io page.

Code: Select all

{ "bjcase1", "Ben Jordan: Paranormal Investigator Case 1 - In Search of the Skunk-Ape" },
{ "bjcase2", "Ben Jordan: Paranormal Investigator Case 2 - The Lost Galleon of the Salton Sea" },
{ "bjcase3", "Ben Jordan: Paranormal Investigator Case 3 - The Sorceress of Smailholm" },
	{ "bjcase4", "Ben Jordan: Paranormal Investigator Case 4 - Horror At Number 50" },
{ "bjcase5", "Ben Jordan: Paranormal Investigator Case 5 - Land of the Rising Dead" },
{ "bjcase6", "Ben Jordan: Paranormal Investigator Case 6 - Scourge of the Sea People" },
{ "bjcase7", "Ben Jordan: Paranormal Investigator Case 7 - The Cardinal Sins" },
{ "bjcase8", "Ben Jordan: Paranormal Investigator Case 8 - Relics of the Past" },

Thanks, but in my previous commit I standardized the name list by removing the name from that one. I decided that some of the case names would result in long a game description for the ScummVM launcher, so it was better to leave it at just the case numbers

Fair enough. Since I'm mostly playing on an android tablet, i have enough space for long names.

Anyway, looks like you have copied some entries twice. So that they also get detected twice when using mass add.

Code: Select all

	GAME_ENTRY_PLATFORM("bjcase2", "BJ2Deluxe.exe", "18b284c22010850f79bc5c20054a70c4", 7055507, "Deluxe"),
	GAME_ENTRY("bjcase8", "BJ8.exe", "98df40b0885b4e5f90f1093987f1f56c", 28334295),
Both of these have the same entry twice, right below each other.

I've played some games and want to give some feedback.

Donnie Darko - The Adventure Game Runs fine and can, until I missed something, be completed. But it closes with an error:

Code: Select all

ERROR: Unable to create local script: Runtime error: unresolved import 'SetCredit'!
DooM - A Very Graphic Adventure Runs fine and can, until I missed something, be completed.

Kings Quest for Orgy Runs fine and can, until I missed something, be completed.

Maniac Apartment Runs fine and can, until I missed something, be completed. There is one case where it seems to skip a textbox, but nothing major.

Monkey Island 5 - The Return of LeChuck (Demo) Seems a bit slow and the character has some positioning and clipping issues. But since it's a demo, I guess it is fine.

Stargate Adventure v1.21 Crashed after the developer screen. Runs fine as standalone version and when using the Android AGS app.
This is the console output from my raspberry pi but I get the ERROR: Invalid audio track tag 'ix00'! on my tablet as well

And I found another unique case. It is John Sinclair - Voodoo in London. I just found out that there is a final version. So far I've only seen the demo (which I why I submitted the name change before). But although both contain completely different files, they are both detected as the same version. Since I don't know how to get the different hashes, somebody else has to look at it. The game and demo are available here: https://ojaque.itch.io/john-sinclair-voodoo-in-london
If I remember right the demo should also be part of the archive torrent. I'm just mentioning that because I had some trouble to extract the demo from the itch.io page. But I managed it and it is (almost) the same package.

Speaking of demos. I've seen that there is a separate group for them in the detection table. Is that just for commercial demos? If not, it would probably be good to move Monkey Island 5 - The Return of LeChuck (Demo), John Sinclair - Voodoo in London (Demo) and Indiana Jones and the Fountain of Youth (Demo) into that group. Although I'm not quite sure about Indy, since I've not finished it yet and don't want to make a mistake.

Thanks for pointing it out. I've fixed it.

It's meant to be for all demos. And you're right, existing entries with "demo" in their name should have the demo text stripped, and their game entries changed to a DEMO_ENTRY. It's just been a low priority task for me to clean up the detection list at the moment. But I'll get to it eventually.

I just finished organizing the whole Maniac Mansion Mania games for myself and can provide an diff for the additions and changes. But once again I'm not sure about some things. So here is a diff for the first season (ten games) https://pastebin.com/x7LED0wu

I've used the names from the German Maniac Mansion Mania homepage (most of the games are only german anyways) and since long names have been discussed before, I would like to know if I should continuing to use the format Maniac Mansion Mania 1: Geschwisterliebe or if it should be shorten to either MMM 1: Geschwisterliebe or maybe just Maniac Mansion Mania 1.

Edit: Updated the diff

Edit 2: Don't apply the changes, there is at least one error in the diff. And I'm also almost done with the whole 100 games. Although I've found out that there are special episodes which I have not downloaded yet.

Someone who has time and interest should also make some consistent naming convention for all those Reality-on-the-Norm games. Some use prefix RoN, some use prefix RON (shouldn't that be RotN anyway?), some have Reality-on-the-Norm and some have no prefix at all.
This is inconsistent on the AGS homepage as well, but maybe ScummVM detection list could fix it.

And AGS homepage doesn't have all Reality-on-the-Norm games, so some are available only elsewhere, like Reality-on-the-Norm homepage. Of course there are some games which are using RoN/RON/RotN characters but are not listed on the official Reality-on-the-Norm homepage, so there's that too!

If we can agree on a naming convention, I probably can offer to do that. At least for the games on the homepage, because I've never heard of Reality-on-the-Norm before. But I have to say that it depends on the amount of games which are already in the detection table. Because going through that list and rename/move stuff around is kinda annoying I find. For the MMM games it is not that difficult, because from the 100 games are only like 10 already in the list. So any feature commit for the remaining 90 games would be way easier for me and my rather crude setup. :D

And I should maybe find a better way to provide my changes which won't use pastebin or directly use of github.
