All the inane chatter goes in here. If you're curious about whether we will support a game, post HERE not in General Discussion :)

Buried in Time (Journeyman Project 2)

Post by fk198016 »

I just realized that clone2727 completely finished porting this game a couple years ago. Why hasn't this been added to ScummVM? Can someone download the code and complile it? I am surprised nobody is talking about it. I grew up with that game among millions of others. I'd like to be able to play it in ScummVM without having to run a damn Win 3.x thru DosBox. It's a pain. Thank you.

Where is the download link? A person comments about it being compiled, so where is it?

This is completely hopeless. There hasn't been a release yet. Until someone compiles the Buried in Time code into Scummvm.exe, i guess I'm just gonna forget about it.

This person compiled the engine on their own. It is not merged with ScummVM or available to download. Like you said yourself, you will just have to wait and see if anything changes, I'm afraid.

This sucks. One of the best games of my child hood and it's sitting around collecting virtual dust in cyber oblivion. This is just very very sad that it is not in ScummVM. I'm very disappointed ☹️☹️☹️

fk198016: You asked "Why hasn't this been added to ScummVM?". I think a quick read of the comments on that Pull Request explains that.

It is the same code mostly written by clone2727, just now there were no objections for us to finally merge it.

It would be great if you could do a preliminary alpha testing before we announce it for the general public. If you find any problems/oddities, please reach out to me, either here on Discord.

fkk198016, if you could give the game a nice playtest, that would be awesome.

I can't believe that the ultra-rare original Buried in Time Demo works on ScummVM!!!

So far everything works perfect except one thing i noticed. There are two easter eggs in the game, one works and the other doesn't yet. Hold Ctrl press new game and a small video plays. In the Da Vinci Studio, holding Ctrl and opening the door plays a video of the rogue time traveler doing a moon walk type walk, but this easter egg actually doesn't work. I'm hoping it gets implemented later.
