albadross posted in the WME Testing-Thread that he completed Carol Reed 10 and 11.
Further to my comment in the thread about the 1.10.0 release, I confirm I have completed over the last couple of years :

A Carol Reed Mystery - 10 - Bosch's Damnation
A Carol Reed Mystery - 11 - Shades Of Black
Both demos are also available at mdna-games.com.

Here are the direct links.

A Carol Reed Mystery - 10 - Bosch's Damnation http://www.mdna-games.com/Bosch/demo.htm

A Carol Reed Mystery - 11 - Shades of Black has 2 demos. One is HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, and the other is standard. MDNA Games provides a link to a website that tells you what your screen resolution is. All of that can be found here. http://www.mdna-games.com/Shades/demo.htm[/quote]

I also found a German demo of East Side Story. It's only the original game in English with German subtitles. In German it's called Mord an Einem Unbekannten, which means Murder of an Unknown. I found the demo at adventurespiele.net. http://www.adventurespiele.net/CmodsDow ... d-1987.htm

I found this game on the Wintermute forums. It's called One and I don't really understand it. The graphics are mostly black outlines on a white background. The plot, from what I understand, is told from the main character's perspective. He or she killed a woman and is running away from the cops.

A right mouse button click on an object brings up an interface that lets you look at it, take it or use it or talk to it. That's the weird part. You can take a hole off the ground so no one falls into it. You can take the sun because it's too hot. You can take a keyhole, and also tell a door handle to move lower because you're too short to reach it. You can also talk to a flower and a tree.

I couldn't complete the demo because I wasn't sure what to do. I also didn't know how to access my inventory. The demo is here if you want to try it. http://forum.dead-code.org/index.php?topic=609.0

I found another Wintermute demo on gamejolt.com. It's called Machu Mayu. The graphics are really beautiful and the music is nice too. Not sure what kind it is. I'm not sure what the main character is supposed to be either, but it looks like an Indian.

You can move it around by clicking. When you see a green left, right or up arrow you can go to the next screen on the left, right or up. When you see a green down arrow you can interact with an object. To access your inventory you move your mouse to the top of the screen. If you want to save your game, click on the green down arrow. If you want to load your game, click on the green up arrow. To quit click on the red arrow. The demo can be found here. https://gamejolt.com/games/machu-mayu/55386

I also found a Wintermute demo called Trader of Stories. It's about a girl named Myosostis who's on a journey to learn about her past. Somehow she lost her memory, and now she wants to find out what happened. She hopes the Wiseman will be able to help her. A brief tutorial at the start of the game explains how to play. The demo is here. It's under the heading The Trader of Stories (old). http://traderofstories.blogspot.com/

I tried playing the demo of Looky, a Wintermute game, but the game crashed when I tried to enter the front door of Looky's house. I clicked and he looked at it, and then I clicked a few times, and then he opened the door. The game crashed after that. I was able to finish the demo by not entering Looky's house. I could go anywhere else but there. Here is the link to the demo. https://looky.mac-bs.de/index.php/progr ... -downloads

Here is a walkthrough in case you get stuck. It's in German, but you can use Google Translate. Just click on Lösung öffnen (open the walkthrough) to get the PDF file, which is the only format that's available. http://www.adventurespiele.net/module-L ... id-715.htm

Tinkering around I found out SCUMMVM 2.6 can play "Resonance," at least the Demo. Version 2.2 cannot do this.

https://www.gog.com/game/resonance

It runs on the ancient Sony if SwiftShader 2.0 or 2.1 is used- best to use D3D8.Dll, the game settings allow this.

The game Demo can be downloaded from here, but I cannot guarantee any safety beyond I had no problems.

GusCE6: Resonance is an AGS engine game which was added relatively recently hence working in 2.6, not 2.2.

Please take a look at the Wiki for a list of the supported games in both stable and development:

I noticed that- at least I got that much down if not much else, getting past that first hurdle...but couldn't find "Resonance" listed anywhere.

SCUMMVM also supports the Wintermute engine but "Foxtail" uses ("used" now?) an altered version. I didn't know if this was the case here so it seemed like a good idea to mention it.

It's also curious how SCUMMVM 2.6 does acknowledge the presence of "Morphopolis," something earlier versions never did. Is it possible a modification can get this one running too?

Please keep in mind I do not have the Internet where I live and am stuck using the library wifi- on battery power, so my time is very limited.

It is remarkable that even the unstable Daily Build of SCUMMVM 2.6 gets "Zniw Adventure" running on the ancient XP Sony VAIO. This is the first time I've seen this happen: a game meant for Vista or higher working on an XP system. The implications here are very obvious.
