Which games would you like to be supported on the future?

Now where Residual is merged, I would also love to see Normality. It was such a nice 3D Adventure (for its time)
Re: Which games would you like to be supported on the future?
Normality is a totally different engine. Residual games are polygon models drawn over a static 2D background, whereas the Normality engine is sprite-based characters over a 2.5D background.
Having said that, I would like to see Normality given a source port, because that means Realms of the Haunting would also work.
But that's not a suitable project for ScummVM.

Re: Which games would you like to be supported on the future?
If Residual can render 3D characters already, I don't see why from a technical standpoint it should be restricted to 3D characters with 2D backgrounds only. There are many fully 3D adventure games that I'd like to see supported, such as Gabriel Knight 3, which doesn't run very well on modern OS's.
Edit: Looks like somebody is already attempting that: https://github.com/kromenak/gengine

A game perfect to put in the "Junkyard" section: Down in the Dumps.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Down_in_the_Dumps
It was released in 1996 and is one of those games with pre-rendered 3D graphics. I used to play it a lot back then, but I was never able finish it. Today, playing such a game on a modern system is nearly impossible. I do hope that the ScummVM team takes this game into consideration and give it a second life. It would be awesome to revisit this game again.

I think you're vastly underestimating the work needed to support a brand new game engine.gemeaux333 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 11, 2022 6:49 pm Hello, I try to make work a Omni3D game with ScummVM but can't add it, all details here :

I'd love to see the Planet Gysi series on ScummVM
https://www.mobygames.com/game-group/ca ... ysi-series
The first one in the series seems to be a simple DOS game. So I don't see any problems. The 2nd one is made for Windows but I think its doable.

Obsidian for Intel Mac
The video game "Obsidian" written for the PowerPC Macintosh needs to be supported on the Intel Mac. I understand that there was a Windows version of this game, but I have the original PPC Mac version. I also have Intel "Macs" (2013 MacBook Air, 4th-gen, 6th-gen, 8th-gen and 9th-gen Intel "Hackintoshes") on which I would like to play this game. Is such a port from SCUMMVM possible in the future?
Re: Obsidian for Intel Mac
The game is built with mTropolis. There are some development efforts for that engine.wstrohm wrote: ↑Sat Apr 23, 2022 12:48 am The video game "Obsidian" written for the PowerPC Macintosh needs to be supported on the Intel Mac. 1.B.A.T by Computer Dream, edited by Ubisoft in 1989.
https://www.mobygames.com/game/bat
There is some RPG'ish management in this title, that makes it so peculiar. Doing scripting (in game) elements, real time combats, dungeon crawling, and space shuttle 3D exploring...
It was a nice souvenir back on my Atari ST. I played the first one, so many hours and didn't finish it...
2. BLOODWICH by Image Works, edited by Mirror Soft.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1249410/Bloodwych/
It was a very nice dungeon crawling, very immersive, and very long didn't finished it too, many hours in dungeons. With a very nice start screen. Split screen multi
"Fully communicate with other characters and creatures with an advanced character interaction system" -Steam
3. MAUPITI ISLAND developed and edited by Lankhor
https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maupiti_Island
It's the second adventure of Jérone Lange, sequel to Mortviel Manor. Beautiful graphics and soundtrack, on my Atari ST, synthesises voices enhanced. More polished and nice
Enigmas.
Do you heard about those games ? There is a chance to saw this for scummvm ?

The often forgotten gem Septerra Core.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2539 ... erra_Core/
It’s a point and click only JRPG style game
It’s was one of my favourites as a child (still have the game CD somewhere in my house). Tried to finish it but it was too hard.
I would love to play it again on a handheld and finish it this time
Would this game be able to run on Scummvm?

My quick list would be
"Gahan Wilson's The Ultimate Haunted House"
"The Ripper"
"Are You Afraid of the Dark? The Tale of Orpheo's Curse"
"Leisure Suit Larry's Casino"
"Beavis and Butt-Head Do U."
I'm sure there's a bunch others I may add once they come back to mind
