Download versions for the S60 port

Hi!

I see there are two versions of the S60 port available:

# Symbian S60 version 1 binary (1.0M .sis)
# Symbian S60 version 2 binary (1.0M .sis)

Does anybody know what are the exact differences between them?

The difference is that V1 is for Series 60 V1 devices, and V2 is for Series 60 V2 devices (devices based on 7.0S and later).. V2 is also sometimes called 2nd edition. ANd yes.. this means that the N91 is not supported, as this is based on V3, third edition of S60.

It certainly would be nice to have a table where users can look up which version they need. I.e. a list of phones with the corresponding phone listed.

We could put this link into a sticky at the top of this Forum, what do you think?

As there is alot of device specific questions and issues. Users of the older phones, have many problems due to the specifics of the device they are using.

I collect some info about first and second edition:

FP means Feature Pack
V1 means 1st Edition with Symbian OS v6.1
V2 means 2nd Edition with Symbian OS v7.0s , v8.0a or V8.1a
V3 means Third Edition with symbian OS 9.1

Symbian S60 version 1 binary :
V1 supported devices : 7650,3650,6300,6320 N-Gage,3600,3660,3620,N-Gage QD,Sendo X,Sendo X2

Symbian S60 version 2 binary :
V2 FP 1 : 7610,6600,6620 (Symbian OS V7.0s)
V2 FP 2 : 6630,6680 (Symbian OS V8.0a)
V2 FP 3 : N70,N90 (Symbian OS V8.1a)

V3 not supported !
V3 : N91 (Symbian OS V9.1)

Ahh that would explain why V1 crashes on the 6600. Thanks for the listing We can use that in the Wiki.
