Return to Monkey Island localization
Guys, somebody can export / import files from ggpack?
There are files that worked with Thimbleweed Park
I would use it for localizations

I believe this is referring to BgBennyBoy's TP explorer updated code. It's not released yet, but it's available on github so one can build it themselves.

We thought that would work somehow, but it doesnt. So no, that one is useless and we dont use it.Praetorian wrote: ↑Thu Oct 06, 2022 8:01 amI believe this is referring to BgBennyBoy's TP explorer updated code. It's not released yet, but it's available on github so one can build it themselves.

Re: Return to Monkey Island localization
I was able to open all ggpack files with the latest code from BgBennyBoy's Thimbleweed Park explorer, and browse and save the contained files, including the tsv files, so I wouldn't call it useless. It's also fun to be able to extract and listen to the game's soundtrack (and speech resources).
But it won't do it in one automated step, I don't think, and I don't believe it will deal with re-packing modded assets (maybe it will, but that's not the purpose of an "explorer" tool).
I was also not aware of the other tool, so thanks for sharing.

Re: Return to Monkey Island localization
TWP explorer gives us error "invalid ggpack file", ggtool is much better w/o any issues.Praetorian wrote: ↑Thu Oct 06, 2022 12:36 pm I was able to open all ggpack files with the latest code from BgBennyBoy's Thimbleweed Park explorer, and browse and save the contained files, including the tsv files, so I wouldn't call it useless. There are also other very useful extractors:
https://github.com/JanFrederick00/WeirdViewer
It will open the .wimpy file from the pack and load the referenced sprite-sheets.

A commandline packer and unpacker of Return To Monkey Island's ggpack files, written in Python 3.
