Using SCUMMVM on Surface Pro with Touch Controls

So, I've been playing with the Surface Pro as a tablet for ScummVM, among its many uses. However, the Windows version of ScummVM doesn't seem to have the Backend menu found in the android version that makes changing click modes and entering the menu so easy. I did see a post from 7 years ago about a touch enabled SDL (viewtopic.php?t=14158), but I have no idea if that's still good information or not. Anyone know if there's a way to set up SCUMMVM to access the in-game menu and such using only touch controls?
