Stairs in Maniac Mansion Mania games

So some Maniac Mansion Mania games run perfectly with ScummVM but I've noticed in many of them, it is impossible to go downstairs in the Bernoulli family's house when playing with ScummVM. Has anyone else experienced this?

Also episode 7 crashes when you talk to Edna

Haven't tested the episode 7 bug, but the staircase issue is widely known. The staircase is not really unusable, but due to a problem in pathfinding, very often it won't detect the "room change".

Yeah I was eventually able to get the stairs to work but it was a pain

Also I realized the episode 7 glitch isn’t exclusive to ScummVM. It crashes at the same moment when I play without ScummVM

Sorry for the late reply, I just wanted to let you know that the staircase issue is solved in daily development builds https://buildbot.scummvm.org/#/dailybuilds

Are you using the latest version of that episode? I can't reproduce the crash
