Im in communication with Rafał Rzepecki & Andrew Blazdell about thiseriktorbjorn wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2024 7:53 pmBut as you yourself said earlier, the most recent commit was 11 years ago.Cognoscenti wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2024 12:22 am Just found this :

Rafal told me :
"It has been always on the back of my mind however and I've been thinking of resuming it from time to time."
I will keep you udpated but its sound good news !
Re: Which games would you like to be supported on the future?
Not really. The work to finish this is quite extensive. I only did some work to patch the codebase to keep it compilable and allow someone who is interested to pick this up. If Rafal decides to work on this again, he is free to, but that statement is just a polite note, not a statement of intent.

If I had to wish for just one... Discworld Noir.
Or,
Warcraft Adventures - Lords of the Clans.

Oh yes, both I would like. But Warcraft would be problematic, as it was never released officially.

Re: Which games would you like to be supported on the future?
First and foremost, I'd love to see support for "Rise of the Dragon" and "Heart of China" from Dynamix. 2 titles that were way ahead of their time and won awards and praise from several noteable magazines. (Dragon, The One, CGW, PC Format and others) I consider these titles to be quite noteable as far as "Adventure Gaming History" is concerned and think they would make great additions to ScummVM.
Secondly, "Call of Cthulhu: Shadow of the Comet" and "Prisoners of Ice". 2 games that certainly have their shortcomings but are nonetheless interesting early Lovecraftian titles.
Discworld Noir, because it would be very nice to have the complete trio of Discworld titles in ScummVM
"Ripleys Belive it or not: The Riddle of Master Lu". A title that i bought long ago but never got around to play through. I have been holding off on trying it again, hoping that ScummVM would one day pick it up.
"The Gene Machine". A sort of parody of Jules Verne fiction like "Around the world in 80 Days", that I remember being rather amusing when I played it long ago.
"Uninvited". A rather famous horror adventure released on the Macintosh in 1986 and later the Amiga/Atari ST.
"Realms of the Haunting". A highly acclaimed "adventure shooter" that uses FMV, from 1996.
"Betrayal at Krondor". A famous classical rpg, that I include and would love to see, (was my no.1 rpg for quite a few years) since ScummVM now supports both Ultima and Eye of the Beholder titles.
Finally, "Dr. Drago's Madcap Chase". An entertaining "strategy board game" released in 1995 by BlueByte, for windows 3.1. Tried to get it working again many years later but it failed.

Re: Which games would you like to be supported on the future?
Just now we're in the testing phase for Orion Burger, another game using the same m4 engine as Ripleys. The biggest downer is that the games all have hardcoded logic, which means it took ages to reverse engineer and reimplement all of it, and it was a bugger to test and fix all the bugs accidentally introduced.. it's kind of burnt me out a bit. I'll likely look into working on Ripleys at some point late this year, after I take a break to work on some other games.
Re: Which games would you like to be supported on the future?
Thank! That's wonderful to hear. I never played Orion either, so both of these games are on my "adventure radar" of titles that I missed out on. Any new engines/titles added to ScummVM are something I'm very grateful for, since it has long since become my "Go To" choice for playing any adventure from earlier decades.dreammaster wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2024 11:21 pm Just now we're in the testing phase for Orion Burger, another game using the same m4 engine as Ripleys. Hello !
I have a dream… would it possible, eventually, to have maupiti island and Dune ? These games, especially Amiga versions were masterpieces.
Have a great one and thanks for your amazing work !!!

Well, let's put it that way: There's a non-zero chance that one of the games you mentioned might be supported one day.silentyann wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 4:23 pm Hello !

That’s fantastic ! Non zero isn’t zero
Re: Which games would you like to be supported on the future?
These are all titles I don't see listed on the Wiki, either as supported or supported.
Bureau 13
Dark Side of the Moon: A Sci-Fi Adventure
Frankenstein: Through the Eyes of the Monster
Temujin

Re: Which games would you like to be supported on the future?
https://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Director/Games lists Frankenstein as a Director 4.0b1 game. I don't know how close that is to being supported, though. Some other Director 4 games supposedly work well, but I imagine it depends a lot on exactly which parts of Director they use?
