Hi there,
I did a fresh install of ScummVM 2.8.1 on my Windows 10 (Win10 pro, 64 bit) machine.
A ScummVM screen is shown for 3 seconds, then it closes.
scummvm.log shows the following:
[2024-04-02 18:46:26] ScummVM 2.8.1 (Mar 16 2024 13:01:03)
[2024-04-02 18:46:26] Vorbis FLAC MP3 RGB zLib MPEG2 FluidSynth Theora VPX AAC A/52 FreeType2 FriBiDi JPEG PNG GIF taskbar TTS cloud (servers, local) ENet SDL2 TinyGL OpenGL (with shaders)
[2024-04-02 18:46:26] --- Log opened.
[2024-04-02 18:46:26] WARNING: Unable to enable VSync: That operation is not supported!
[2024-04-02 18:46:26] WARNING: Libretro is not supported!
I didn't enable anything, it's a fresh install and it never started.
scummvm.ini:
[scummvm]
last_window_height=1440
versioninfo=2.8.1
last_window_width=1920
Does anyone have an idea what's going on?
Thanks a lot for your replies!
Regards
Herbie

Re: ScummVM does not start on Windows 10
Maybe check your video drivers, I'm a bit worried about VSync and the lack of shader support.
Re: ScummVM does not start on Windows 10
Thanks rootfather, that solved my problem.
I always used Microsoft drivers that were found by Windows-Update.
Now I looked at the AMD website and found a new driver there. ScummVM is running now.
Thanks a lot, that really helped me (although I feel a bit stupid now)!

No problem at all - thanks a lot for your report! Especially this shortly after a release, we are always thankful if we get reports that could indicate a problem we missed.
