Any way to rebind arbitrary inputs?

Post by otherjustin »

Hi there, I'm playing some of the Humungous Games which don't use the global save system, but instead require pressing S to save and L to load. I'd like to play these on the Switch using only the controller inputs, however I have been unable to find a way to bind inputs to a key like S or L.

I don't own a Switch, but you should be able to bring up the virtual keyboard and press "S" and "L" using that one.
See here for related documentation:

Rebinding the hotkeys for a specific game could be possible if there was a keymapper implemented that specifically supports remapping those keys (which as far as I know is not the case for these Humongous Games, as of yet). You could open a ticket on our bug tracker as a "feature request" for this, since I don't think I've seen one already there.

Finally, I don't think rebinding completely arbitrary inputs is something that we are considering. If it's done, it's done on a specific game's (or engine's if that suffices) hotkeys basis.

Note: I'll be moving this topic to the Nintendo Switch subforum.

Ok sorry for using the wrong forum. I only thought about the virtual keyboard in terms of typing, that should work just fine for what I need.
