Dose it run a Director program thats a exe file in Scummvm..?
There was a FE that was made in 2001 that was made in Director and you could walk around 3d environments so like a virtual arcade, it was called 3D Arcade and it was built in Director MX I think, I used it a lot, up until Director was removed from Windows, You can download Arcades and Arcade Cabinets too for it and then load the games from the Cabs in MAME, If I try and run it it windows it partly loads but then crashes.

I was wondering if I could get it to run in ScummVM..?
This is one of its arcades, it used the 3D part of director and you can use skins(themes) on it to like Hyperspin.

No. We currently support titles up to Director 4. MX was Director 9.

Hello ScummVM Director engine developers. Thank you for your continuing efforts toward getting Director games up & running in Scumm. I've been monitoring the ScummVM homepage ("Latest Developments" section) for any Director engine development status but haven't noted any recent posts. Any chance you can provide us interested followers/future users a brief update on where you're currently at with your Director 4 development...? Do you need any user testing/bug reporting support at this time (for "Total Distortion" or other D4 game...)? Thanks for any update you might provide and again for your continuing Director engine development efforts...

I realise it’s kinda beyond the scope of SVM, but I love that the (Windows version of) the Star Trek Omnipedia (Director 4.0.4) is recognised by 2.8.0 :mrgreen:

In the ScummVM Wiki there is a "list of known games and software" for director games. I was wondering about the game Golden Gate Killer (also known as SFPD Homicide) and couldn't find it in there.
Now I'm wondering if it was just forgotten, or if there is another reason for it not listed there.
It uses Director 4.0.4F

Also in the Wiki I saw there is a workaround by creating an empty D4-mac file.
So I did that and it's in my game list now with the "Madei With Macromedia" graphic, but when starting it tells me "Path is not a file".
I installed the game in an Emulator (BasiliskII) and copied the installed files over using the shared folder.

Also I then tried the cli --start-movie way, scummvm told me the name I gave is unknown and I should use the list-games parameter, and there in the list I found SFPD. So it is known after all. But the result is the same as with the gui, it just tells me the path is not a file. I also tried the empty lingotests-all file, but then ScummVM tells me it found no game files.
Are there any more infos on what files need to be where for this game?

The German version of Jewels Of The Oracle gets detected, but immediately crashes on launch. Anyone else getting this problem?

The game is not supported. The list of supported games can be found here: https://www.scummvm.org/compatibility/

Jewels game requires some heavy bespoke code, the whole in-game navigation lives in a separate DLL. We will work on it eventually.

That list is not even close to being complete, and as you may see, we were not updating it much. It is just part of the investigation effort. If anyone is willing to help cataloging the Director games, please request the Wiki account from me.

At this point in time, it is a gamble if a game which is not on the compatibility list runs. Many games used external code, e.g. Xtras, basically a DLL, extensions to Director functionality; a lot of games had installers and thus, required specific things present in your system and some developer has to take a look into it and simulate the presence of those things; and in general Director 4 support is being actively working, we still have missing features and some things are implemented not quite correctly on our side.

Hello, Director engine developers. Thank you for your continuing development efforts during this year. Any chance we can get a (late...) Mid-YearDirector development update from you (similar to the End-of-Year update you provided last December...)...?

EDIT:
I forgot to mention... D5 game "Safecracker" (1997) start-up has improved a bit. Although still receiving start-up pop-up windows, the game now proceeds to displays initial credit splash screens. Following that, the Gameplay Window stalls on a black screen (instead of playing the title screen animation/audio as it should...) and the Status Window shows to be caught up in an infinite "WARNING..." loop (a loop occurs for both the demo and full game versions...)

Thanks for that bit of progress as well...

Any word on what happens with Krish's GSoC development? After 6 weeks his blog wasn't updated anymore. :(
