Isn't english voice acting in foreign original language games always terrible? English speaking countries don't have a big dubbing tradition like Germany, France, Italy, and Spain...

And up to 20 layers of parallax scrolling is truly not "oversimplified". This is a traditional hand-drawn 2D adventure, not the result of a rendering machine.

Well, it's true that there isn't a ton of dubbing done in the US -- movies are usually just left in their subtitled versions. However, there is no shortage of extremely talented voice-over actors, many of whom do video games. It's just that none of the localization companies seem to use them, or simply can't afford them.
