LECSteam is linked FROM the LucasArts Twitter account, and now it says that MI2:SE is coming on Sept 8th.

Pretty sure LECSteam a hoax. From the official twitter account (http://twitter.com/lucasartsgames):

"@JohnnyWalker2K1 this would be the only LucasArts Twitter, we will be doing all announcements for further Steam releases here!"

EDIT: But then they had also posted this earlier:
"And this is just the beginning. We know how much you guys love our old games. This little announcement is just a start. #LECSteam
10:40 AM Jul 6th from web"
So... does that mean LECSteam is LucasArts after all? I don't really know much about Twitter.

in europe every game costs reasonable €3,99, at least that's what's my steam client tells me. I'm trying to buy FOA right now (never had the talkie), will tell you, if it's ScummVM compatible later!

edit: yahoo, it's downloading right now :)

I'm pleasantly surprised that Europe didn't screwed on pricing for a change (€3.99 vs $4.99). Looks like we don't get Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, though.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is on my steam. In what country are you? Per chance in Germany? It could have to do something with the swastikas in the game... (I'm in Austria, and I can find the game in Steam. But on the other hand, we also get the uncensored versions of other games, so...)

Good point, I didn't think of that. It's pretty ironic that nazi symbology is fine in movies, but a big no-no in games.

ok, I downloaded it. Unfortunately it's missing atlantis.000 file. So ScummVM doesn't recognize it. I tried to copy my atlantis.000 file from my floppy version, but then scummvm (expectedly) crashed. Could somebody, who has the CD version, try to use that atlantis.000 and then look if it works with ScummVM?

Looks like the classic adventures include some of the original data files, and even the original executable in a subdirectory below the one containing the new Windows exe. Here's a list, if anyone wants to compare it to the retail copy of Fate of Atlantis:

Code: Select all

btw. the windows Port of the executable of FOA (and I guess all the other Scumm games too, but I didn't bother to buy those) definitely is based on the port from Aaron Giles (as I predicted before).

I can confirm that Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade from Steam is not recognized by ScummVM as a valid game directory.

The 'INDY3' directory does have 01.LFL through 99.LFL files and an INDY256.EXE

Indy3 could be a checksum problem. If it really is a previously unreleased version, ScummVM won't know about it yet.

I just tried running Indy3 in DosBox and it appears that it's missing the 00.LFL file. Maybe that's what's throwing off ScummVM too.
