King's Quest VI Crash

Post by Whopperle »

Hey Guys!

I'm currently playing King's Quest VI with the latest release of ScummVM.

The game crashes every time after I give the dangling paricle to the bookworm. It crashes as soon as the little bunny pops up to speak. The bees above still move however. It just won't load that piece of dialouge.

I tried it with subtitles and with speech. Same problem.

I have the version from the KQ-Collection Release.

Any advice?

Well, it sounds like it could be a regression, as that part worked before. Make sure you're using the latest daily build, and if it still happens you should probably report the bug.

Which version of ScummVM are you using? There was a bug in that scene, which should be fixed in 1.3.1 - if not, try the latest daily version (1.4.0pre) here:

If you're still having issues, please file a bug report to our bug tracker, attaching a saved game where the problem occurs

I was using 1.3.1. when I wrote the opening post to this thread. I just tried it with the latest nightly build (1.4.0git2400-g0b4802c) and it still wouldn't work.

I found however the following message in the ScummVM Status Window:

WARNING: kDoSound<play>: Slot not found <0001:1ec5>!

The Status Window shows this message twice.

I am going to report this as a bug now, savegame attached.

There's no need to post here if you posted on the bug tracker. Developers check the bug tracker frequently, so cross posting isn't needed.

Fixed this bug too, thanks for reporting it :)
