Problems saving FOTAQ on Samsung Galaxy S

I'm new to the whole SCUMMVM thing but am enjoying rediscovering some classic point and click adventure games. I have downloaded FOTAQ using SCUMMVM 1.4.1 with no problems, however when it comes to saving the game I can't. I know I need to save using the journal but as I have a touchscreen phone I am unable to enter any letters for a filename; is there any alternatives I could try?

On my android phone, I hold down the menu key to get the virtual keyboard out.
