Aspect ratio correction before graphic filter is applied?

Post by KevinW »

Hello everyone,

I'm not sure if this has been adressed before, but is there a way to have the aspect ratio correction applied BEFORE a graphic filter is used? The problem is that the scanlines of the TV2x Mode get scaled with aspect ratio correction on, which doesn't look too good.

Not that I know of. The reasoning when aspect ratio correction was introduced, many years ago, was that since aspect ratio correction will produce scaling artifacts, applying the scaler afterwards would magnify these artifacts.

Thanks for your reply! I guess that's true for most scalers. I assume it only gets problematic with the TV2x, producing odd scanlines. You probably know what I mean. :)
