Problems with Zak

I am having problems playing Zak, for some reason when I try to open a save the menu is stretched beyond the lower part of the screen and I can't press the Load or Cancel buttons. I've experimented with every option in ScummVM and I can't make it show the missing part. This is in Wide mode, in Stardard mode the buttons dissapear but reappear if I drag the cursor over the part where the buttons should be. You'd say the it should be ok, use standard and the change to wide, but when I press the Home button nothing happens. I am on a T/X with the FM-Towns version of Zak with MP3 audio on. I've tried both versions, the ARM and the subversion snapshot, with the latter giing me nothing but crashes while playing with sound/window settings.
