Indiana jones and the last crusade combination pass

Hello everybody. I have been playing indy this week and i notice a strange error, i don't know why but i can't get the pass which have the combination to open the safe box in the nazi castle. I am sure that it is in the room where is the dog, to be more exact inside file drawer. I open the file drawer but the pass with the combination isn't there. It seem to be a Game bug , i don't know it's very very strange. somebody have any idea.

Apparently, the paper will only be there if you have seen a cutscene of the paper being put there, and that will only happen if you do a specific thing, and it's quite easy to lock yourself out from being able to. On the other hand, you don't actually need it to finish the game.

I'm being deliberately vague to avoid spoilers, but I found the hint I needed on the Universal Hint System page for the game. (It's been ages since I played through it, so I had no memory of it.)
