AGI games compatibility: "Apple IIgs version has no sou

Post by Darkmoor9 »

On the site's compatibility section, for all AGI games available for the Apple IIgs (e.g. http://www.scummvm.org/compatibility/DEV/lsl1/), it says:

"Apple IIgs version has no sound"

But I'm pretty sure that hasn't been the case for a very long time, right? All AGI IIgs games I have tried have both music and digitized sound under ScummVM (often, maybe even always, actually being the best-sounding AGI version, too).

I can confirm that IIgs sound seems to be working. I tested the following in v1.8.1 and listened for the theme music and tried some sound effects in a few games.

Black Cauldron
Gold Rush
King's Quest 1
King's Quest 2
King's Quest 3
King's Quest 4
Leisure Suit Larry 1
Manhunter New York
Mixed-up Mother Goose
Police Quest 1
Space Quest 1
Space Quest 2

Thanks for your report. It was just overlooked. I just fixed it.

Sorry for drudging up such an old topic, but I hate starting new topics. Anyway, I'm using the current 2.8.1 version of ScummVM and just loaded up all my old AGI Sierra games, KQ 1-4, SQ 1 and 2, etc, and there is no audio. I tried overriding but under Apple IIGS Audio, it says there is no support. What happened? Do I need to go back to an older version of ScummVM to get the IIGS audio back?

EDIT: Stupid me. I got 1.8.1 and found the problem. I couldn't get the console in 2.8.1 to stay open. 1.8.1 and it says that without the *.sys16/*.sys file it can't load the instruments. Thanks for the oddball help. :)
