grim fandango issue

Post by sibs »

I loaded the game onto my computer and had trouble with it, so IO tried playing the game with ResidualVM.

I was able to add the game on the list but when I tried to play a screen comes up asking me to insert disk A.

please help, I've never played Grim Fandango before but desperately want to.

The GF installer is made for windows systems, so it won't install all the needed files for running the game with residual.
For the faster way you need to add all the .LAB files into that installation directory.
And, of course, have a look at the README.

I added the .LAB files into the directory, but the same thing still happens.

I haven't run across that error but I would assume that it is asking for the CD because it can't find one of the files. Check that you have all the files needed, here is the list of files I have in my Grim Fandango folder:
- credits.lab
- data000.lab
- data001.lab
- data002.lab
- data003.lab
- data004.lab
- data005.lab
- grim.tab
- movie00.lab
- movie01.lab
- movie02.lab
- movie03.lab
- movie04.lab
- vox0000.lab
- vox0001.lab
- vox0002.lab
- vox0003.lab
- vox0004.lab
- year0mus.lab
- year1mus.lab
- year2mus.lab
- year3mus.lab
- year4mus.lab
