Which files will be nedded from EMI-Patch (when supported)

Post by a.borque »

Hello!
I am going to exchange my old WinXP machine with a new Win7x64 computer.
While saving my old data I recovered the three files from the Grim Fandango Patch needed to run it with ResidualVM.
As Escape from Monkey Island might be supported by ResidualVM in the future as well I wonder whether anyone can already tell, which files of EMIs Patch will be needed then so I can save them, too.
These seem to be the files added / modified by the (german) patch:

Code: Select all

\Monkey4\
  Chorus.flt
  i9n.m4b
  Monkey.exe
  Monkey4.exe
  Mp3dec.asi
  Mss32.dll
  patch.m4b
  Reverb3.flt
  Sdelay.flt
  Update1_1.txt

\Monkey4\Install
  CustomLog.ini
  lecsetup.dll
  setup.ini
Thanks for any reply!

The patch is only a few megabytes, so I would have just zipped up everything if I was you. In any case, there are tools for extracting the patch on Mac OS X/Linux anyhow (although they aren't that easy to use, as you'll need to compile them yourself).

As for the file-list, atm EMI doesn't even start (although it did that a few months back, but only to play the intro-movie in the demo). The only files I can say for sure are unnecessary are any .exe and .dll-files. All .m4b-files are necessary for sure.
