EMI - Stuck in Inventory

Hey folks. First of all, this project is amazing - I was so happy to discover it and continue replaying all the Monkey Islands.

Unfortunately, I have run into a strange issue:

While on Knuttin Atoll, I was starting the rocky beach puzzle to find the bronze hat. I had called the parrots over and opened my inventory when I suddenly found myself looking at the main Knuttin Atoll set with my inventory open and unable to close it. The game wasn't frozen, I could open the menu and the highlighted item in my inventory was spinning. I figured it was just a temporary bug so I saved and restarted the game. This didn't fix the problem. Worse yet, I foolishly overwrote my save instead of saving in another slot. So, now I am completely stuck.

I am wondering if accidentally pressed both "O" and "I" at the same time, causing the game to have the inventory open but not fully know it is in that state (just speculating).

I have no idea if this is ResidualVM related or would also happen in the retail as well.

I did start a new game and jumped to close to where I left off. So, worst case scenario I will have to quickly run through a few of the puzzles. But I wanted to see if anyone on here may be able to offer some help. I am wondering if loading a new set would fix the issue, or if I can use lua_do to close the inventory somehow - hopefully someone on here can help me with figuring out debug commands for a solution.

Edit: just to add some more details - I am using ResidualVM only for EMI. I set up the game using a legit copy of the disks. I am running the game using OpenGL with Shaders at full screen but otherwise am using the default settings. Prior to the issue I did not have developer mode turned on.
