RPi4 Retroarch - No controls available in ScummVM core

I'm running libretro ScummVM core in RetroArch on a Raspberry Pi 4. After loading the core, I have no ability to move the cursor or access the buttons. I have tried Dualshock 3 and 4 controllers (via USB and Bluetooth), two different keyboards (USB and Bluetooth), and two different mouses (wired and wireless with dongle). I'm at a loss as to what else to try.

Has anyone else ever experienced this issue? Any suggestions?

This is a libretro issue, other people are reportedly running into similar issues as well. You should report it to the libretro bug tracker
