No MIDI music in Ultima VI - Apple MacBook Air M1

Post by eazyone »

I own a MacBook Air with an M1 processor. I wanted to play Ultima VI with MIDI music, but I don't know how to handle it. I have tried various options in the ScummVM configuration, but to no success. All the time the music is not MIDI.
Does anyone know how to deal with this problem? :(

Looking at an older thread and also at the nuvie repository, I don't think that MT-32 midi is implemented as of yet.
On the nuvie repository I see a PR for supporting wav audio, in order to integrate MT-32 music (as wav audio files?). It mentions ScummVM so maybe we already support this workaround?

@Dreammaster may know more on this.

Thank you for exploring this topic.
Looks like I have no choice but to play with this synthetic music :)
I hope that someday it will be possible to run MIDI in this game.
