Nostalgia for adventure games
Hello, I'm delighted to find a place to talk about our old adventure games. It's always fascinated me to see how titles like Monkey Island or Sam & Max have stood the test of time. I still remember the hours spent in front of the screen, trying to solve puzzles that seemed impossible at the time. With all this in mind, do you have any games you'd recommend for those who want to delve into the ScummVM universe?

Among free games I'd suggest Beneath a Steel Sky, and for a bunch of euros on GOG you can buy The Dig.
Both science fiction games, I find them intriguing and funny (and The Dig has an excellent soundtrack, too).

The wiki has a more extensive list of free and non-free games supported by ScummVM and where they are available: https://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php?titl ... _the_games
Beneath a Steel Sky is indeed worth playing. From the same creators, but not free, the Broken Sword games are also very good.
There are also many more games made with Adventure Game Studio and that can be played with ScummVM. Personally I have a soft spot for If On a Winter's Night Four Travelers, and all the Wadjet Eye games (see the first link). The AGD Interactive games are also worth playing in my opinion.

Any particular reason for the game being stated twice on the compatibility list?criezy wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2024 3:12 pmPersonally I have a soft spot for If On a Winter's Night Four Travelers,

Since you liked Monkey Island and Sam and Max I'd recommend any of the other LucasArts games that you haven't played.
Indiana Jones Fate of Atlantis is a standout to me, but so are Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, and The Dig.
Outside of Lucasarts there are tons of beloved and fantastic games but some that I'd highly recommend would be Broken Sword 1 and 2.
Then there are the Sierra games, so many to even list but if you google for Sierra adventure games you'll be able to see that they had a very extensive collection of games. I'd recommend viewing some gameplay on Youtube to see which ones you'd be interesting in playing. Most of all of these games are available on GOG and usually for very low prices (and often discounted), and they run off Scummvm. You're going to be in for some great experiences
