Ubuntu: No music, but sound effects work
I'm using ScummVM 2.8.0 on Ubuntu. I tried two games only: Leisure Suit Larry (256VGA) and Day of The Tentacle. LSL1 works great, but I have no music on DOTT. I have sound effects and voices, but no music. Music device and AdLib emulator are set to default. That's how I have it set up in my older machines running older versions of ScummWM. Any idea of what's wrong? Thanks!

Hello! A few questions:tecate wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2024 12:42 am I'm using ScummVM 2.8.0 on Ubuntu. I tried two games only: Leisure Suit Larry (256VGA) and Day of The Tentacle. - Do you have the same issue with ScummVM 2.8.1?
- Have you tested with a recent daily development build (2.9.0git) (this is from the column "ScummVM latest
Branch master" in the daily builds page)? - Is this an original DOTT version (please specify any details on it) or was it extracted from the remastered DOTT?
- Did you try overriding the sound settings for DOTT and manually setting the Sound device (from Game Options -> Audio for the DOTT entry in ScummVM)?
- Could you check about the setting under Global Options -> MIDI for GM Device?
Re: Ubuntu: No music, but sound effects work
I didn't have any issues with my previous version of ScummVM, which was 1.7.0. Yeah, it's old, but it took me a few years to change my computer, and I didn't want to update any packages that were working.
Anyway, I was able to get music by changing to MT-32 emulator. Unfortunately, it's not the same music I was used to when I was little, with my Sound Blaster 16. The music sounds superior, but I was hoping to have the same experience I had as a kid.
This is a copy of my original DOTT CD. I also have an original version of Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis on CD that I can try, but at the moment I don't have anything that reads CDs. I'll borrow a USB CD drive, and try IJ5 on this version of ScummVM.
