Day of the tentacle nothing clickable after loading save game

Hey everyone, maybe someone can help me out or maybe my save file is just corrupt and i have to live with it.

When i load a save game in DOTT, the actual save loads totally fine, but i can't click on nothing anymore in the actual game screen and item list. i can click on the the verbs/actions, but i cannot click on anything else. I can move the character, but nothing else. It feels as if the collision control isn't working. Hovering over items in the game or the inventory is not recognized.

I created a new game and saved it, and it seems to work with that save file.

Is my save file just kaputt and i need to start from scratch?

Any pointers are much appreciated

I'm using scumm vm 2.8.1 on a Macbook Air M1. uninstalling and reinstalling didn't help. The problem occurs in Sequioa nd Sonoma.

first question would be, how old is that save file?

can you load that save, save it to another entry and reload that new save?
is the behaviour still the same?

you might have triggered a bug and/or your save file has already broken flags inside.

if it is old enough there might have been changes to the save/load interpreter in the meantime which rendered your save file outdated...

so many possibilities...

I tried to save the save file to a new slot and reload it. The result is the same. unfortunately.

The save file is rather new (August 2024). I saved it under the version before 2.8 and i was not able to load it after updating. Reverted to 2.7.1 but had no luck

Could you open a ticket on the bug tracker for this and attach the problematic saved game to it?
