Hi, I'm just wondering why must be a DVD.
Can't I test it on a CD with a few games?
Will it work on a CD?

Burning the files to a DVD or CD makes no difference at all. LeChuck made a fantastic tutorial for burning a PS2 DVD (See Tutorial: How To Create A ScummVM PS2 DVD) which also can be used to burn a CD.
There is only one important thing to adhere strictly to:
Use a 100% ISO 9660 Mode 1 compatible CD template. This means, no Rockridge or Joliet extensions (Joliet will be default setting for nearly all windows based burning programs), no multisession discs and no filenames with more than 8+3 characters.
And even when testing, do yourself a favor and don't use rewriteable discs, especially with the PS2 Slim. The PS2 laser will burn out very fast in this condition.
