How can I get an access to the .ini files on S60v3?

Post by dekoder »

I've tried to search, but got too much conflicting variants.
So where are scummvm.ini and sdl.ini files on Symbian 9.1 phones?
How one can get an access to them?
The sound volume, for example, is too low on my e61.
I've read that it's only 50% of maximum by default, but I've not managed to find .ini.
It seems like is placed in c:/private, the area of no acces for
y-browser (it's not symbian signed, no All Files capability :( )
Is there a way to edit the .inis?

Well you can set the basic volumes inside scummvm. As for other volumes, they are not controllable within the normal SDL environment as such. But could be made so global volume could be set using the SDL.ini files which also is currently located in the Private folder. I wil move this file into a available folder for the next release. I.e Shared\scummvm for UIQ devices (Best would be in the C:\Media Files\Other\ScummVM actually as its available from the built in file manager)

And.. hmm What should it be for S60v3 devices.. Any suggestions for the root folder? \Scummvm is not good enough I guess.

Well, I sincerely believe that \scummvm is a way better place than \private :) There is really not much point in having .ini files without an ability to change it :(
Other variants: \data\scummvm, \data\other\scummvm and so on
The real aim is to make .ini files acceptable.
By the way, I installed scummvm on memory card, checked the card
on pc using card-reader and didn't find any of scummvm .inis.
Does it always use c:\private for .ini storage at the moment?
Is it a proper behaviour?

Yes its using the default application ini path which is in the c:\private folder. The correct way is not always the best way I have discovered. :-)
