Full Throttle Crash on action scene (cavefish)

Spoilers ahead. Please note that I am playing the game for the first time.

I have knocked the truck over and all, but when I try to get to the road the game crashes. Saying something like:
error: (numbers:hex) invalid seek request numbers > numbers (delta == numbers)

Any ideas on how to get past this?
I use 0.9.0 on linux
Also: if you would kindly tell me the short storyline upto scene 500 which i can skip to... that can be a solution (PM or something)
