Mac sound

Post by Muyfa666 »

I've heard claims that the Mac-version of eg. Fate Of Atlantis should have good sound, but IMHO it's kinda lousy. But maybe it's my fault, am I supposed to add some kind of sound driver to the mac-versions?

If you are talking about playing the mac version of FOA using ScummVM: It won't sound any different than the PC version (at least in a fundamental way), since it uses the same music driver. We do not support the custom instrument samples included in the Mac version.

If you are using the original Mac FOA application, as shipped by Lucasarts: Well, it used the above mentioned sound samples. But to consider the sound produced superior... I don't know, I wouldn't agree, but it's in the end a matter of taste.

Anyway, usually for any given game, people will find that version superior that they played first.

I guess you are right, but the sound really differs. It kind of simplified in the mac-version. But whatever. It's still good, but very unlike the PC-version.
