Problem reverting back to 0.9.1 after 060917 subversion inst

Post by fehmi »

I first installed the official 0.9.1 version on my Nokia E50 and it seemed to run just fine. After that, I found the subversion by Anotherguest and decided to give

Code: Select all

scummvm-060917-SymbianS60v3_all.sis
a try. As I couldn't locate where the savegames were located with this subversion, I reverted back to the official port S60 3rd ed port. But this time the menu seemed to be lagging and there were screen drawing issues. I deleted the ScummVM folder on C: drive using Y-browser but this issue persisted. In the end, I had to go back to the subversion port.

I didn't test the official port throughly on my first installation but as far as I remember, the menu seemed to operate correctly. Can the settings left on the phone memory after the uninstallation of the subversion cause the menu corruption issues?? I could not figure out where the setting files are kept

The thing is that with the old version I kept intial settings and save games in a private folder, something not very ideal on Symbian OS 9 devices. Also I had forgot to update some of the installation scripts for generated files. So this might have been causing some problems.

But I dont see how this could affect screen drawing, seems like you are running two versions of scummvm at once or something. Remember to reboot your phone after installing the new version.

Thanks for the new build Anotherguest! :o Now the menu transitions are much more responsive (even better than the previous SVN). I'll transfer give Full Throttle a try today.

BTW I would like to learn why you removed the support for GZIP savegames... ScummVM says that my previous savegames are invalid and I had to uncompress them first to make them compatible.

Hi! Scummvm has changed the way save games work, and latest build makes all save games compressed. Not sure if you can read them on your pc though.
