MK5 Giga - Neoflash Monkey Island 2 Save problems

Post by Lordneb »

Hello! i finally got monkey island 2 to boot after dabling with all the dldi stuff. but i cannot get it to save despite it telling me it was succesfuly, i press save, choose the desired slot and it replies "saves to monkey.01" or something.but when i go to load, nothing is there. i have read other threads, regarding supercard problems of a similar sort, i just wondered. am i doomed never to be able to save with this card?

MK5 Giga 16gbit Neoflash

Thank you

The supercard problems are nothing to do with this. The MK5 DLDI (downloaded from Chishm's site) contains no code to save data at all, so it's not going to work.

You need to contact Neoflash and get them to write the code, as their DLDI looks only half finished.

A quick follow up, if you're still interested. If you upgrade your MK5 to the latest firmware, you can now save games in ScummVm DS. In fact, the new firmware enables the the DLDI to both read and WRITE, so you can now save with pretty much every homebrew that uses DLDI.

You can get the firmware at http://www.neoflash.com/go/index.php?op ... &Itemid=30

Consider that you need to FORMAT your card to make this work as explained on the site, so BACKUP you stuff first!
