Is the Monster.sou actually needed?

Post by Intrik »

I've been putting a few of my old games on my DS and I was wondering; is the huge MONSTER.SOU file is actually needed to make the game stable?

So far I've just tested Sam & Max without it and it's been working alright (I really don't care about having speech enabled) so I was wondering if I could keep going without the file on this and other games too.

No, monster.sou is not needed, games work great without it.

BTW you can compress monster.sou to MP3 (.so3) or Ogg (.sog) to save a lot of space, and playing a game with speech is much better ^_^
