Supported cards?

Post by iPwnzorz »

Is there a list anywhere of the supported cards? I think I found one that is compatible but I don't want to pick it up then be hugely dissapointed.

Any card which has a fully working DLDI will work with ScummVM DS. Some Supercards can be a problem, as their drivers are of a poor quality.

If you have a specific card in mind, there are often users with that card on the forum who will be able to confirm that it works.

Well my problem at the moment is actually fitting it into the DS, I just wanted to make sure it would work before I paid for it, Sony Memory Stick Duo Pro, normally used for mobile phones.

Perhaps you could even set up a service with pre-installed ScummVM DS... Who knows?

I think you've got the wrong idea. You can't just buy any memory card and expect it to fit somewhere in your DS.

You need to buy a card reader device for the DS, like this one:
http://www.r4ds.com/r4ds.htm
Checking that there is a working DLDI driver available for the card reader.

You also buy the card that fits that particular reader.

And Sony Memory Sticks will never work with the DS, they're a Sony owned product and only work with a very limited range of devices (mostly Sony ones). The DS usually uses some variant of SD card or CF card.

You should probably read my basic intruction to homebrew on the ScummVM DS site: http://scummvm.drunkencoders.com/index.htm#howto

Yeah! Your right I do have the wrong idea! Well this makes it a lot harder for now because we have no means of paying online =(

And crikey! £33! Well I'll wait a bit then. But thanks for clearing that up!
